Our courses are OCR acreddited, which means you will gain a nationally recognised qualification.As you will see below we offer a range of courses from pre-entry to Level 2. We have qualified and experienced Tutors that are familiar with learners of all abilities. Our Tutors understand the difficulties many people are faced with and they will take you through the course at your own pace. They will give you the guidance and support you need to make sure you gain the understanding to succeed to the next level. In this way, we aim to create a collaborative learning approach to boost learners' self-confidence thoughout their learning journey.
How to enrol
To join a class, you will need to register at BRC and the advisers will enrol you for the course. Please ensure you bring identification evidence such as passport photo, birth certificate, marriage certificate or utility bill.
You will also need to bring evidence that you are in receipt of JSA or ESA such as a letter from the Job Centre stating the benefit you are on.
All of our courses are free with the exception of Computerised payroll. There is also an examination fee of £35 for the Sage Line 50 units.
Most of our learners have left school with no formal English qualification and need courses to improve their job prospects or simply to make everyday life easier. Classes are geared to the level of the learners and are highly practical. Learners are given real-life situations of how English is used in daily life. Our classes range from entry level to level 2. Learners must first undergo an assesment.

Classes are geared to the level of the learners and practical - learners are given real-life situations of how Maths is used in daily life. We offer OCR qualifications which verify your Maths levels. OCR certificates are recognised nationally and taken by over 50,000 people annually in the UK.
We offer courses in English for all learner levels from Pre-Entry to Level 1. So even if you don't speak English at all, we will be able to help. We teach adult learners of all ages from a wide range of countries. Currently, we are teaching sixteen different nationalities who vary in age from 19 to 69 years old. Learning a new language is never easy but at BRC, we try to make classes as learner-friendly as possible. Classes are practical and focus on equipping learners with the language skills they need for everyday life.
Our courses are designed around our learners' needs. Whether you have never used a computer in your life or you are looking to fine tune your spread sheet skills, we can help. We offer free courses to any adults who want to learn. Learners vary in age tremendously and come from all walks of life but share the same goal - they want to improve their IT skills. Our Basic Computer Skills caters for those who have little or no previous experience and aims to help learners get started using a keyboard, email and the internet. As learners progress, they can join ITQ classes which introduce word processing, databases, spreadsheets and creating posters and cards using Microsoft Publisher.
Our ITQ course caters for learners who wish to improve their skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Publisher and Power Point. We offer training on how to use Microsoft Office 2003 as well as Microsoft Office 2010. Our experienced IT trainers are familiar with learners of all abilities. They take you through the course at your own pace and give you the guidance and support you need to make sure you gain the understanding you need to complete the course and use computers.
Line 50 Accounts
Sage Line 50
We offer computerised bookkeeping using the programme Sage 50 Accounts 2010, the UK's leading accounts software. Our course is designed to be user friendly and for those who have little or no experience in this field. SAGE courses are free and a great way to obtain highly sought after qualification. There is an examination fee per unit which the learner pays when they have passed their unit. There is no course fee. We offer SAGE Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications which are OCR accredited. These are widely recognised and taken by thousands of people annually in the UK. We also offer in-house training in computerised payroll.
