Tracey brews new skills
and confidence

Tracey was referred to BRC by her local Jobcentre Plus to get help and support with a CV and cover letter.

She worked closely with Claire, one of our Employment Advisors, to develop a CV and cover letter to use when applying for jobs.

One barrier was Tracey’s lack of digital skills, so Claire suggested Tracey join our Digital Skills taster course to build her skills and confidence using a computer and the internet. The course has helped Tracey to feel more confident using a computer and the internet to access information and services.

Since completing the course, Tracey has become a volunteer with BRC in the community café, serving drinks to other learners. Not only does she really enjoy it but she makes a good brew!

This is what Tracey has to say:

“Before joining BRC I lacked confidence and felt isolated. Thanks to the friendly staff at BRC, my confidence and self-belief have grown a lot. I have learnt new skills and really enjoy interacting with other people in the café. I feel more positive about the future.”
